The tool is a command line utility and can be run using the Command
Prompt. It is not required that it be run on all servers on the farm
– that saves the effort! The tool can be run on any server in the
farm where Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Office SharePoint Server 2007 is
installed.
The executable is 56K in size and comes quite handy to be sent to
anyone.
The least privilege you’ll need to run this tool is to be logged in
using any app pool identity used by SharePoint.
After running the tool, SPSFarmReport.html is created and placed in
the same location. The html file is also opened in a browser for
viewing.
